Forge Your Path came from my deep need to share the tools that helped me during my divorce journey. I wanted to create a unique workbook that would challenge its user to dig deep, be intentional, and take advantage of the opportunities that arise when things seem bleak. This workbook offers 160 pages of prompts, activities, information, and resources to help you muster up resolve, cultivate self-efficacy, and gain the clarity needed to move yourself forward.
See what people are saying about Forge Your Path below.
Over on Substack I cover much of what is offered in my workbook - sometimes just skimming the topic, other times diving deep and adding context and additional exercises.
I also use this platform to write about other divorce-specific topics and self-empowerment for anyone looking to move forward from heartbreak.
Subscriptions are free with an option to pay if you want to support my work.

“As a couple’s therapist, clients are often asking me for resources to help them through divorce. Kathleen Burgler’s workbook, “Forge Your Path” is the most solid recommendation that I can give clients that are looking for a comprehensive guide to use independently and make tangible progress. The workbook has both logical tools and emotionally healing exercises. It is truly the best resource that I can offer someone looking to move through this difficult period and grow to be better on the other side.”
"Divorce is overwhelming and scary, leaving most of us to find our way through it by white knuckle trial and error. Through simple prompts and thoughtful guidance, Kathleen’s workbook empowers individuals to navigate the challenges of divorce with resilience and clarity resulting in the perfect intersection of cutting-edge science and self-love."
"Embarking on the journey of divorce can be emotionally tumultuous, but within these pages lies a roadmap to navigate the storm with grace and resilience. Fusing the principles of emotional healing, mindfulness, and self-care, this comprehensive guide offers a sanctuary for those facing the end of a marriage. With introspective exercises, guided meditations, and practical strategies, this workbook is an indispensable guide for discovering how to nurture your inner self amidst the chaos."
"It’s so beautifully written, the graphics are amazing, etc. I think this will be a help to those who need to process what they are going through."
"This workbook feels like a brilliant, sage, and grounded friend is talking me through the divorce process. All of it - from the basic legal details that I needed someone to explain to me, to the mindset shifts I needed to make internally. If I had gone through my own divorce with this workbook by my side, it would be tattered and stained out of regular, probably daily, use. Kathleen somehow manages to give her reader a sense of being nudged in the right directions, inspiration, and endless patience and understanding. I’ve never come across a comprehensive guide like this one that is somehow complete while also being succinct and written in the friendliest of tones. What a gift to those who need some scaffolding as they navigate the dark days of divorce recovery."
